Branch Sales Intern | United Rentals
The Tone:
This is a branch-based internship at United Rentals. As the world’s largest equipment rental provider, United Rentals offers a chance to build a future in sales within a leading industry company. This role provides comprehensive exposure to the sales process, offering invaluable skills and industry knowledge, with the ultimate goal of transitioning into a Sales Associate position upon degree completion.
The TL;DR

• Tech Stack: RentalMan, Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety: Participate in safety training, ensuring proper personal protective equipment usage, safe equipment handling, and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Operations: Contribute to the operational efficiency of the branch yard workflow, including equipment check-in, washing equipment, and assisting customers.
• Sales Shadowing: Shadow both inside and outside sales positions to understand their roles, responsibilities, and United Rentals’ customer focus.
• System Training: Receive training on key systems such as RentalMan and Salesforce.com.
• Collaboration: Actively participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings, ride-alongs, work sessions, conference calls, and WebEx meetings to support branch operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career, currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in sales or a related major.
• Experience: Prior relevant work experience is preferred, demonstrating an early interest in the field.
• Skills: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities; strong analytical and financial analysis skills; high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bonus: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team; self-motivated with a strong drive and a sense of urgency; ability to effectively handle multiple assignments and project components simultaneously, demonstrating strong time management.
