Responsibilities
As an intern, you will play a crucial role by:
- Contributing individually and/or collaboratively as a team member to support our customers’ unique mission needs.
- Working closely with key stakeholders to achieve goals and objectives aligned with SAIC’s project/program portfolio.
- Building awareness and gaining experience in key capability skills essential to SAIC business efforts.
- Conducting data and process analysis to support the development of critical solutions.
- Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to discussions in various technical fields.
Internship Focus Areas
SAIC offers internships across a diverse range of high-demand fields, including:
- Data Engineering & Analytics: Focus on maximizing raw data, elegantly engineering, transforming, modeling, visualizing, and streaming it to create modern products and exceptional customer experiences.
- Decision Science (AI, ML, & Intelligent Automation): Engage with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and other automation technologies to drive better decision-making, automate processes, and eliminate manual activities.
- Software Engineering: Engineer custom, fast, clean, and reliable code that directly contributes to positive business outcomes.
- Cloud, DevOps & Security: Work with architecture, engineering, and automation professionals specializing in developing cloud policy as code, compliance as code, infrastructure as code, and continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Deployment (CD) product pipelines.
- Business Operations: Support critical functions such as Finance, Contracts (Legal), Process Management, Supply Chain & Logistics, Marketing & Communications, and Human Resources, helping to bridge strategy and execution, manage resources, and improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Qualifications
To be considered for these exciting opportunities, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled at George Mason University in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, AI/ML, Engineering, History, English, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Completion of one year or more of college coursework.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, reflecting all college coursework.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A genuine passion for a career in technology.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. Please note that some roles may require the ability to obtain a security clearance (position dependent).
Target Salary Range
Up to $40,000. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
