As an Online Statics Tutor, you will provide personalized instruction to thousands of students nationally, helping them achieve academic success and build foundational mechanics skills. This role allows you to significantly impact students’ understanding from the comfort of your home.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide personalized 1-on-1 online instruction to individual students.
• Accept and fulfill on-demand tutoring requests whenever available.
• Set and manage your own flexible schedule for tutoring sessions.
• Utilize AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional support and lesson generation.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions, with Varsity Tutors managing all payment logistics.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of force systems, equilibrium of particles and rigid bodies, free body diagrams, trusses, frames and machines, centroids, moments of inertia, friction, and distributed forces.
• Experience: Skilled at breaking down free body diagram construction, force resolution, and equilibrium equation setup, and guiding students through analyzing force systems and solving complex problems.
• Skills: Ability to explain vector resolution, moment calculations, method of joints and sections, and static equilibrium conditions; familiarity with engineering statics curricula and common student challenges; strong communication and an engaging teaching style, adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs.
