What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide crucial academic support in graduate-level statistics to students across the nation.
• Explain: Effectively explain complex statistical concepts, including asymptotic theory, the Neyman-Pearson lemma, and generalized linear models.
• Guide: Guide students through designing experiments, performing multivariate analysis, and implementing statistical models in software.
• Prepare: Prepare students for advanced research methodology and doctoral-level statistical analysis.
• Adapt: Adapt instruction using tools like R or Python for statistical computing and relevant research paper examples to support masters and doctoral students.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of mathematical statistics, maximum likelihood estimation, sufficient statistics, hypothesis testing theory, Bayesian inference, regression analysis, multivariate methods, experimental design, and nonparametric statistics.
• Experience: Proven ability to break down intricate concepts like likelihood function derivations and guide students through designing experiments, performing multivariate analysis, and constructing confidence regions. Experience with preparing students for advanced research methodology is essential.
• Skills: Advanced subject mastery; strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style; ability to adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles; familiarity with R or Python for statistical computing.
