What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide personalized, advanced Statistics instruction to individual graduate-level students.
• Break down and explain complex statistical concepts, including likelihood function derivations, posterior distribution calculations, and ANOVA decompositions.
• Guide students through designing experiments, performing multivariate analysis, constructing confidence regions, and implementing statistical models in software.
• Adapt instructional methods using tools like R or Python statistical computing, research paper examples, and proof-based exercises.
• Identify common student struggles and explain material using multiple approaches, while emphasizing theoretical foundations and research applications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced subject mastery in mathematical statistics, covering areas such as maximum likelihood estimation, sufficient statistics, hypothesis testing theory, Bayesian inference, and regression analysis. This includes proficiency in preparing students for research methodology and doctoral-level statistical analysis.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to teach and explain complex statistical concepts to graduate-level students, guiding them through problem-solving and connecting advanced statistics to various research applications. Experience in adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Skills:
• Deep knowledge of multivariate methods, experimental design, and nonparametric statistics.
• Ability to explain asymptotic theory, Neyman-Pearson lemma, and generalized linear models.
• Proficiency in statistical computing software such as R or Python.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
• Bonus: Familiarity with graduate statistics curricula and common challenges, including understanding measure-theoretic probability foundations, deriving estimator properties, and interpreting complex model outputs.
