Event Planning Intern | The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT)

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT), located in Orlando, FL, with a hybrid work model. The HJGT provides junior golfers aged 8-18 with competitive opportunities on exceptional courses, focusing on superb hospitality and memorable events. This role is crucial for supporting the event planning team in organizing and executing these tournaments, contributing to a seamless experience for young athletes and their families.

• Mission: Organizes and executes successful golf tournaments, ensuring a seamless experience for young athletes and their families.
• Tech Stack: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Photoshop, video editing software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Ticket Sales: Drive event attendance by assisting with the development and implementation of ticket sales strategies, engaging with potential attendees to promote events, and tracking sales progress for team reports.
• Digital Media: Enhance event promotion by collaborating with the marketing team to create compelling digital media content, assisting in the design and production of graphics, and contributing to engaging visual content for online platforms.
• Social Media: Cultivate online community engagement and event awareness by managing and updating social media accounts, crafting and scheduling posts, and monitoring activity to respond to inquiries and comments.
• 30-45 Second Promo Videos: Generate excitement for upcoming events by working on the production of short promotional videos, assisting with scripting, shooting, editing, and publishing, ensuring they reflect the event’s essence.
• Research: Support informed decision-making for event planning and marketing by conducting research on industry trends, competitors, and best practices, compiling data and insights, and presenting findings to the team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This internship is for an early career individual, suitable for college students enrolled in at least one credit who are looking to gain experience for college credit. Candidates must have an enthusiasm for golf or event planning.
• Experience: Candidates should have familiarity with various social media platforms and content creation, along with basic video editing skills to support promotional efforts.
• Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, alongside excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or Photoshop is required.
• Bonus: Prior experience with specific video editing software is a plus.
