Job Overview

The Video Analyst/Assistant Coach will play a crucial role in supporting the team’s performance and development. This position involves comprehensive analysis of opponent footage, presenting findings to both coaching staff and players, and evaluating team performance during games and training sessions to refine the team’s game model. Additionally, the role includes assisting the coaching staff with essential field setup, leading drills, and organizing training sessions. Please note, this is an unpaid position.

Key Responsibilities

Match & Training Analysis

  • Analyze match and training footage using advanced video analysis software.
  • Provide detailed post-match video breakdowns for the entire team and individual players.
  • Identify tactical trends, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses in performance.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive video library for ongoing and future reference.
  • Set up and manage video equipment to ensure high-quality filming of all matches and training sessions.

Opposition Scouting

  • Conduct detailed analysis of upcoming opponents, focusing on playing style, tactical patterns, and set-piece tendencies.
  • Prepare insightful video presentations for both coaching staff and players, aiding strategic preparation.

Player Development Support

  • Create individual player clips and personalized feedback packages to support ongoing development.
  • Track player progress over time through systematic use of video and data metrics.

Assistant Coach Support

  • Assist with essential field setup tasks, including moving goals, setting up cones, and positioning mannequins.
  • Lead high-level, detail-oriented drills that are specifically aligned with the team’s overarching game model.
  • Collaborate actively with the coaching staff to expand coaching knowledge and enhance coaching tools.
  • Run position-specific exercises directly connected to individual Development Plans (IDPs).

Qualifications

  • USSF C, UEFA C License, or commensurate experience in soccer coaching.
  • Proven experience in soccer video analysis at an academy, collegiate, semi-professional, or professional level.
  • Proficiency with leading video analysis platforms such as Spiideo, Veo, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of soccer tactics, team structure, and match dynamics.
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex insights effectively to both coaches and players.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with common office tools, including Excel, Numbers, Keynote, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism in all aspects of work.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
