Business Systems & AI Solutions Intern
Location: Remote
The SMIT Marine Corps & OCONUS (MC&O) team at Leidos is seeking a motivated and skilled Business Systems & AI Solutions Intern. This role supports automation and process improvement initiatives within the US Navy SMIT MC&O Team.
Working directly with MC&O leadership and cross-functional teams, the intern will contribute to enhancing and integrating internal tools, streamlining workflows, and leveraging AI to automate manual processes where applicable. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced government contracting environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enhance and integrate reporting tools, automation, and AI solutions.
- Maintain and improve internally developed tools.
- Develop or support tools designed to analyze data and identify similar or analogous tasks.
- Conduct targeted research on technical services to support automation efforts.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
- Strong Excel skills, including proficiency in advanced formulas and macros.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Visual Basic/VBA, and/or Python.
- Practical experience applying AI or generative AI tools to solve business or analytical problems.
- Familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar business tools.
- Experience working with automation tools, data repositories, or legacy systems.
- Ability to maintain a positive, upbeat, and constructive attitude under high-pressure deadlines.

Pay and Benefits:
The anticipated annual pay range for this internship is $48,100.00 – $86,950.00. This range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of specific compensation, which will be determined by factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data.
