About the Job: Travel Universal Banker

United Community Bank is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a part-time Travel Universal Banker. This unique role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional service and support across our branch locations within a specific market area, contributing significantly to our customers’ financial well-being.

As a Travel Universal Banker, you will be extensively cross-trained to handle both teller and platform responsibilities. This means you will not only assist with daily transactions but also play a crucial role in customer resolution and financial wellness through needs-based conversations and identifying appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extensive Travel: This position requires up to 100% daily travel to various branches within a designated market area.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain extensive knowledge of retail bank products and services. Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen existing customer relationships and develop new ones by understanding customer needs, perspectives, and priorities.
  • Product Promotion & Sales: Promote, explain, open, and renew (where applicable) a wide range of financial institution services, including consumer loans (excluding real-estate loans), IRAs, Certificates of Deposit, and safe deposit boxes.
  • Needs-Based Sales: Drive proactive needs-based sales conversations through all customer interactions, including service-to-sales opportunities, teller interactions, and appointment setting.
  • Loan Facilitation: Assist customers financially by delivering loan products, ensuring all packages are correct and complete to minimize exceptions.
  • Teller Operations: Perform all functions of a paying and receiving teller, such as receiving checks for deposit, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper endorsement, cashing checks, and processing withdrawals. Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds and ensure daily balancing of the cash drawer.
  • Digital Education: Educate customers on options for managing transactions using technology and all other available tools and resources.
  • Problem Solving: Apply product and service knowledge to effectively solve customer problems and provide timely resolutions.
  • Team Support: Assist other staff members in serving customers, answering telephones, and performing other duties as necessary to ensure smooth branch operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • NMLS License: Must possess a valid NMLS license.
  • Retail Sales Experience: Minimum of 3 years of retail sales experience.
  • Financial Institution Experience: 1+ years of experience working in a financial institution.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to work a flexible schedule and accommodate travel to different branches as needed.
  • Lending Knowledge: Knowledge of consumer credit structuring and lending practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated analytical, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Digital Proficiency: Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies.
  • Background Checks: Must be able to pass a background and credit check.

This is a part-time, non-remote position.

Salary:

USD $34,102.00 – USD $49,382.00 /Yr.
