Software Developer (Top-Secret Cleared)

Amentum is seeking a Top-Secret cleared Software Developer to join our team in Washington, DC. This role is crucial for an organization dedicated to accelerating operations through data and new analytical insights. You will be part of a team that leverages agile methodologies to provide enhanced reporting and global searching capabilities, facilitating task management, cross-utilization, and addressing national intelligence priorities while rigorously protecting confidential data and sources.

As a Software Developer, you will be an integral part of a team leading large-scale data analysis projects, designing and delivering both on-premises and cloud-based applications. Your primary responsibilities will include developing, testing, and debugging new software or enhancements to existing software, collaborating with technical staff to resolve issues, and addressing customer feedback for improvements.

Work Schedule:

• Typically, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days onsite.
• Flexibility within a 2-week pay period to reach 80 hours.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software.
• Possess a good understanding of business applications, user requirements, performance, quality, interface, and security requirements.
• Work collaboratively with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems.
• Resolve customer complaints about software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
• May assist in the development of software user manuals.
• Responsible for desktop design, testing, security lockdown implementation, integration with standard software packages, and integration with automated patching and deployment technologies.
• Provide documentation and training, including automating application and configuration deployments and updates.
• Apply expertise to multiple complex work assignments, often requiring originality and innovation in determining task accomplishment.
• Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
• Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Minimum of 1 year of experience collectively with the following:
  • Developing, testing, and deploying back-end software in widely used programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, Typescript, and .NET.
  • Developing, testing, and deploying Java software using the latest versions of the Java Development Kit.
  • Implementing and using backend frameworks such as Java Spring, Nodejs, Go Gin, AngularJS, React, NextJS, NestJS, Google Web Toolkit, Hibernate, and Struts.
  • Software development lifecycle processes, including Agile development.
  • Software design patterns and antipatterns.
  • Development tools (git, integrated development environment, code quality tools, etc.).

Clearance Required:

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or another related field.
• In absence of a degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

Minimum Years of Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL
• Development Tools & Technologies: GitLab, JFROG Artifactory and Xray, Splunk, Hashicorp Vault, Boundary, Consul, Terraform, Nexus, JIRA, Crucible, Jenkins, Ansible and Ansible Tower
• Cloud Platforms: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows Server and Linux
• Certifications: AWS Associate Level or above Certification(s)

Compensation Details:

US: $100,000 – $115,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
