Junior Marketing Specialist | Serco Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Serco Inc., representing the My Service Benefits (MSB) program. Serco Inc., the Americas division of Serco Group, plc, delivers vital services across Defense, Citizen Services, and Transportation, striving to make an impact for its clients and end customers. This role is pivotal in ensuring military service members, across all components and ranks, and their families, receive critical information about their benefits and retirement planning. By conducting strategic communications tactics and direct engagement, the Junior Marketing Specialist helps increase awareness and empowers service members with essential knowledge.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Represent the program: Represent the My Service Benefits (MSB) program at a diverse array of venues, including conferences, conventions, and training events, strategically executing communications tactics to enhance program awareness.
• Present information: Deliver impactful presentations on MyArmyBenefits and MyAirForceBenefits to audiences of varying sizes, from 10 to over 200 participants, engaging service members across active and reserve components, all ranks, senior leaders, and VIPs in both virtual and in-person settings.
• Act as knowledge resource: Act as the primary knowledge expert on all facets of military benefits and retirement, covering specific Army and Air Force benefits, retired pay calculations, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) premiums, and survivor benefits estimates.
• Support families: Provide direct, hands-on assistance to Soldiers, Airmen, Guardians, and their families at events, helping them understand and calculate their specific benefits during scheduled briefings and other awareness opportunities.
• Coordinate logistics & content: Manage all event-related logistics, including travel authorizations and expense reporting, while continuously creating and updating audience-specific briefing materials. Contribute to broader marketing efforts by generating social media ideas, providing user feedback, and conducting outreach to military commands for new engagement opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Advertising/Public Relations, Journalism, Business, English, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience delivering presentations to diverse military audiences, including groups exceeding 200 participants.
• Skills: Exceptional public speaking and presentation delivery; deep knowledge of military benefits, retirement, and related calculations; proficiency in administrative tasks and travel management; ability to create audience-tailored briefing content and perform outreach; comfort with technology and learning new applications.
• Bonus: U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a NACI clearance; availability to travel up to 50% for presentations and briefings.
