Cyber Analyst Intern | Leidos

The Tone:
This is an internship at Leidos, located remotely. Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers with smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations. This role offers the opportunity to engage in critical research and development related to AI security and incident response within a dynamic environment in the Digital Modernization Sector, specifically within the Fed/Civ IT group. The work done by this intern will contribute to enhancing security practices against emerging AI threats.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Remote
• Pay: $48100–$86950 yearly
• Team: Digital Modernization Sector, Fed/Civ IT group, working with the Security Engineering Team.
• Mission: To contribute to AI security and incident response through research and development of best practices and mitigation strategies.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft CoPilot Security, Microsoft Defender, M365 Tenant, workflow automations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Research best security practices surrounding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• Guidelines: Write recommended guidelines for end users regarding the secure and appropriate use of AI based on conducted research.
• Threat Analysis: Research AI-based security threats, such as email phishing campaigns, to identify key indicators for mitigating these attacks.
• Proof of Concept: Research Microsoft CoPilot Security for Microsoft Defender and collaborate with the Security Engineering Team on implementing a proof of concept in the CMS M365 Tenant.
• Automation: Work with the Security Engineering Team on developing workflow automations to improve security response to incidents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career, pursuing a degree from an accredited college/university.
• Experience: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. US citizenship required.
• Skills: Research, technical writing for security guidelines, AI-based threat identification, security system investigation (Microsoft CoPilot, Defender), and workflow automation development.
