Controller – Base Maintenance Material | United Airlines

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at United Airlines, located in a remote setting. United Technical Operations maintains the company’s aircraft, ensuring they are well taken care of and ready to transport customers. This role is critical for supporting the efficient completion of heavy maintenance and modification activities by ensuring the timely delivery of required materials, directly contributing to keeping the fleet in top shape.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Material Fulfillment: Ensure the fulfillment of all required materials to support scheduled maintenance visits.
• Supply Chain Management: Source, purchase, monitor, track, update, and close purchase orders as needed for aircraft requirements.
• Relationship & Compliance: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal United repair shops, ensuring compliance with corporate and government manuals.
• Issue Resolution & Improvement: Address and resolve purchase order, paperwork, and shipment discrepancies, identify supply chain issues, and collaborate to improve processes.
• Inventory Coordination: Coordinate with internal inventory departments to ensure future inventory plans support scheduled maintenance demand and research alternative means to meet requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s Degree in aviation management, supply chain, procurement, business or related fields, or comparable work experience.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in Materials Management, Materials Coordination or Supply Chain.
• Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency, strong internal and external communication skills, ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Bonus: Experience as an AOG or Base Logistics coordinator, aviation knowledge.
