This is a 10-week summer associate program at DLA Piper, located in Chicago, Miami, New York, or San Diego, designed to integrate exceptional law students into the firm’s Finance group. What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Transactional Work: Work on transactional matters as a member of the Finance group.
• Participate in Pro Bono: Engage in meaningful pro bono opportunities.
• Enhance Skills & Network: Benefit from in-depth training focused on your professional development and build a network through social events and team support.
• Ensure Quality Deliverables: Produce timely, accurate, and quality work product, respond to correspondence, and answer phone calls efficiently.
• Meet Expectations & Deadlines: Successfully meet deadlines and perform assigned work duties as required, while communicating effectively with all parties.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Law students are required to complete the equivalent of four semesters of law school before the start of the 2027 Summer Program. Candidates should demonstrate an interest in finance and possess a background or education in business or finance.
• Experience: No specific years of prior professional experience are stated; the primary requirement is academic progression in law school.
• Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, and business professionals; capacity to produce timely, accurate, and quality work product; strong ability to meet deadlines and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment; entrepreneurial mindset; creative thinking.
