AI Software Engineer Intern | Sierra Space

The Tone:
This is a Corporate, in-person internship at Sierra Space, located in Louisville, CO. Sierra Space designs, manufactures, and delivers satellites, spacecraft, and space subsystems, including reusable spaceplanes and hypersonic technologies, to safeguard our nation and sustain human presence in space. This role is vital for developing AI-powered productivity tools to enhance efficiency across crucial business areas like supply chain, finance, and engineering, contributing to our mission of advancing space-based technology.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, build, and deploy machine learning solutions.
• Automation: Automate routine tasks and provide data-driven insights to optimize processes.
• Optimization: Optimize business processes through user-friendly applications that improve efficiency.
• Exposure: Gain exposure to enterprise AI implementation challenges, including integrating with existing systems and ensuring scalability.
• Interface Development: Develop intuitive interfaces that make advanced AI capabilities accessible to non-technical users throughout the organization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027. Early Career.
• Experience: Not specified in years; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance; must meet U.S. Government international trade regulations (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible for authorizations).
• Skills: Passion for solving problems by leveraging data and technology, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment, strong organization skills, detail-oriented, and self-initiative.
• Bonus: Preferred majors include Software Engineering or Computer Science.
