The Tone:
This is a 10-week summer internship program at DLA Piper, a leading global law firm. The firm’s Corporate group is seeking law students to join its program in Austin, Chicago, New York, Palo Alto, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, Short Hills, Seattle, and Washington, DC. This role is crucial for developing legal skills and gaining practical insight into client needs within a collaborative and supportive environment, preparing participants for a future career as an associate.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Work on transactional matters and participate in meaningful pro bono opportunities.
• Engage in in-depth training focused on professional development and future readiness.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, and third parties.
• Produce timely, accurate, and quality legal deliverables and manage correspondence efficiently.
• Successfully meet deadlines and expectations while fostering positive work relationships and complying with firm policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Law student who will complete the equivalent of four semesters of law school prior to the start of the 2027 Summer Program.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in Corporate law, with a background or education in business or finance.
• Skills: Entrepreneurial mindset, motivated to build legal skills, effective verbal and written communication, ability to produce timely and quality work product, strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
