Electrical Engineering Intern

Company: Superior Group (Superior)

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Pay Range: $25 per hour

Term: Fall 2026 (September – December)

Superior is seeking highly motivated and energetic students to join our Electrical Engineering Internship program for the Fall 2026 term. As a national leader in electrical design and construction, Superior offers an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and professional development. Interns will not only engage in day-to-day responsibilities but also benefit from structured programs including lunch-and-learns, leadership training, career preparation, and unique jobsite visits.

Under the direct guidance of our experienced Engineering team, you will be exposed to critical aspects of the industry, including project coordination, the use of advanced computer-assisted engineering software, and data collection, among other areas. This internship is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and revise document files for a diverse range of construction projects across multiple industries.
  • Create engineering calculations and documents utilizing industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, AmpCalc, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Conduct specialized engineering studies for short circuit analysis, overcurrent protective device coordination, arc flash hazard assessment, duct bank conductor ampacity, and cable pulling.
  • Actively participate in training sessions designed to enhance your proficiency with industry-specific software programs, governing design and construction codes, specification writing, and best design practices.
  • Visit various construction jobsites to provide assistance with field investigations, drawing verification, and other essential on-site tasks.

Education Requirements

  • Required: Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in the Engineering field.
  • Preferred: Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
