NAPA Counter Sales Associate | NAPA
The Tone:
This is an in-person, full or part-time role at NAPA, a company that provides automotive parts and solutions, offering much more than a traditional parts store experience. As a Counter Sales Associate, you are the primary point of contact for customers, acting as the “face of the retail store” and the go-to person for all their automotive needs. Your role is crucial in ensuring customers receive excellent service and find the right solutions, contributing directly to a positive consumer experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Support: Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter and over the phone.
• Team Collaboration: Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
• Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer care and positive interactions with everyone who visits the NAPA Store.
• Customer Engagement: Welcome retail customers into the stores and engage them to provide a positive consumer experience.
• System Operation: Utilize technology, including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of automotive parts gained from working in the automotive industry or through personal vehicle repair experience. A willingness to learn all things automotive is also essential.
• Experience: Valid Driver’s License. Previous experience in a parts store or the automotive industry, or a strong willingness to learn all things auto parts.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Great listening skills and empathy for customers.
• Bonus: Technical or Trade school courses or degree preferred. Background and/or passion for the automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership industries. Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision. Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems. ASE Certifications.
