Insurance Advisor | The Baldwin Group
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at The Baldwin Group, located in Charlotte, NC. The Baldwin Group is an award-winning entrepreneur-led insurance brokerage firm that delivers expertly crafted commercial and private insurance, risk management, employee benefits, and asset and income protection strategies to clients across the U.S. and internationally. This role is crucial for expanding the company’s client base by connecting with leads, understanding their insurance needs, and providing tailored solutions in a sales center environment. As an Insurance Advisor, you will play a direct part in the company’s growth as a top 20 Insurance Broker, ensuring clients receive the best coverages and pricing.

• Team: Part of the Charlotte Sales and Technology hub, working under close supervision.
• Mission: Close targeted numbers of sales from provided leads, prospects, and policyholders to achieve auto, property, and specialty sales targets.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), CRM/Salesforce (preferred)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales Conversion: Handle inbound and make outbound calls to provided leads, consult with customers on their insurance needs, and match appropriate coverages, products, and benefits to convert leads into customers.
• Needs Assessment: Assess customer’s insurance needs by interviewing prospective clients to gather data on their financial resources, needs, property condition, claims history, and coverage gaps, then suggest and advise suitable products.
• Sale Finalization: Finalize sales, coordinate the collection of deposits, arrange for binders and certificates, and brief the service team on new policy sales.
• Client Interaction: Maintain a concern for accuracy, timeliness, and completion when interacting with both current and prospective clients.
• Product Expertise: Maintain a thorough understanding and knowledge of insurance and underwriting criteria for the firm’s insurance company partners to effectively communicate information to all involved parties.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position for individuals ready to obtain a Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license, with all licensing fees and studying time covered and paid for by the company.
• Experience: No specific prior experience required, though previous experience in an outbound call center, inside sales, or a related sales role is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable making calls and interacting with people on the phone, persuasive and goal-oriented, energetic, outgoing, friendly demeanor, self-motivated, self-directed, able to multitask, prioritize, manage time efficiently, tenacity to handle rejection, and knowledge of the sales process from initiation to close.
• Bonus: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and CRM/Salesforce experience.
