Security Operations Analyst Position

The Security Operations Analyst position is an integral part of the Subpoena Compliance Team (SCT) within the Criminal Response Team on the Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT), reporting into Corporate Security. This role operates within a fast-paced environment, offering the opportunity to work both individually and collaboratively to achieve team goals. Given that the workload comprises a combination of calls and cases with varying degrees of urgency and deadlines, the ability to exercise sound judgment when prioritizing tasks is critical. This is an on-site position with office hours spanning 8:00 am – 8:00 pm ET. The Security Operations Analyst is responsible for meeting and exceeding operational business metrics, simultaneously safeguarding customer information/business records, and providing a 5-star customer experience.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to requests and legal demands for assistance from law enforcement and attorneys.
  • Retrieving company records and analyzing data pursuant to legal documents.
  • Verifying the validity of legal demands and confirming that the legal document permits the release of the requested records while ensuring strict adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that all cases are correctly documented and managed end-to-end in compliance with all applicable laws and company procedures. This includes validating, logging, and responding to all legal demands served upon the company for customer records.
  • Collaborating with appropriate departments and managers, specifically with corporate security, legal, and human resources for internal investigations.
  • Handling incoming calls and assisting our customers.
  • Responding to inquiries and demands made by attorneys, prosecutors, and other law enforcement personnel.
  • Guiding other departments on matters relating to the release of company records.
  • Providing value-added feedback to leadership on methods to improve call handling and increase knowledge of processes and procedures to drive quality improvement.
  • Reviewing and updating Methods and Procedures to ensure up-to-date resources are available for day-to-day job functions.
  • Reviewing, investigating, and resolving inquiries from our customers.
  • Traveling may be necessary for training, court appearances, and/or presentations.

What we’re looking for…

You’ll Need To Have

  • Current enrollment at Montclair State University and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, open to all majors, with an expected completion date between May 2026 and June 2026.
  • Ability to provide a transcript showing a May 2026 or June 2026 graduation date.
  • Proficiency in extracting specific datasets from databases using tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willing and able to work on-site in Basking Ridge, NJ.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

Even Better If You Have

  • Paralegal certification is a plus.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to interpret statutes, regulations, or case law.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and matters.
  • Experience maintaining organized, searchable digital filing systems or databases with strict version control.
  • Customer service or technical support experience.
  • Self-starter with the ability to make independent decisions and the judgment to know when to seek guidance.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and process high volumes of work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational/prioritization skills.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you’ll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $60,000.00 – $98,000.00.
