Entry-Level Design/Drafting | Lippert

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Lippert. Lippert is a leading, global manufacturer and supplier of highly engineered products and customized solutions across the RV, marine, automotive, commercial vehicle, and building products industries. This entry-level position is crucial for creating accurate solid models and manufacturing drawings for large assemblies, directly supporting the company’s product development and manufacturing processes with precision and adherence to established guidelines.

The TL;DR

• Team: Works independently while collaborating within a team, providing support to manufacturing personnel.
• Mission: To produce solid models and manufacturing drawings for large assemblies based on customer-supplied 2D drawings and internal design guidelines.
• Tech Stack: Solidworks or other 3D modeling software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Documentation Review: Review incoming design documentation to ensure all minimum required information is present and identify any deficiencies against internal design guidelines.
• Model Creation: Create or modify assembly models and manufacturing drawings, ensuring they adhere to corporate standards based on customer prints and engineering documentation.
• System Updates: Update the PDM system and generate engineering Bills of Material (BOMs) for import into the business system.
• Manufacturing Support: Assist manufacturing personnel by providing information regarding assembly changes and answering print-related questions.
• Project Completion: Complete assigned design and research projects with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy and content.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional with a High School diploma or equivalent, coupled with some technical education specific to CAD or an associate degree.
• Experience: 1-3 years of modeling/drafting experience with Solidworks or other 3D modeling software. Must be able to rapidly transition between projects as priorities change.
• Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to read and process technical documentation and instructions, and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Manufacturing/industry experience, and knowledge of welding and metal fabrication.
