Information Security Intern | Stride, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an internship at Stride, Inc., a company dedicated to creating well-designed products for education. This home-based position offers the opportunity to assist with various projects within the Information Security department. The role is critical in helping to operate an information security program aligned with Stride’s Corporate Policies and industry best practices. You will contribute to information governance operations by identifying, assessing, and updating user access and identity information.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Risk Management: Function as part of the Corporate Information Security team to identify, assess, and help mitigate information access risk as part of day-to-day business.
• Program Operations: Assist with the operations of the information security program, ensuring alignment with Stride’s Corporate Policies and industry best practices.
• Access Profile Assessment: Assess identity and access profiles to ensure they are aligned with corporate policies.
• Governance & Compliance: Assist with other information security governance and compliance functions as needed.
• Administrative Support: Provide assistance with various administrative, clerical, and support-level tasks within the department.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field of study. High School Diploma is also required.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively in a team environment.
• Skills: Foundational understanding of information security and risk management; strong customer service, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; effective communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and web technologies; self-motivation, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to clear a required background check.
