Entry-Level Chemist | Actalent

The Tone:
This is a contract-to-hire role at a nutraceutical company in Commerce, CA, recruited by Actalent. This position offers recent Chemistry graduates an excellent chance to gain valuable hands-on laboratory experience. What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Development: Devise new methods for testing solutions and products.
• Chemical Analysis: Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties using wet chemistry and instrumentation.
• Product Research: Conduct research on manufactured products to develop and improve them.
• Quality Standards: Prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.
• Team Support: Assist in training new employees on instrumentation and wet chemistry procedures and techniques.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline for an entry-level role.
• Experience: 0-2 years of related experience or training, including academic or internship experience with chemical sample preparation.
• Skills: Familiarity with GC, HPLC, wet chemistry, and analytical instrumentation; ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures; proficiency in writing reports and procedure manuals; strong mathematical skills.
• Bonus: Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, and Access.
