The Role

We are seeking our first Creative Strategist, a dynamic individual ready to craft creative that consistently drives profitable results. You will play a pivotal role in influencing how some of Australia’s most exciting e-commerce brands appear across various digital feeds.

This position involves working directly with our Head of Creative Strategy, focusing on brand strategy, innovative ad concepts, compelling campaign narratives, and detailed creative briefs that fuel performance marketing. The role sits squarely at the intersection of deep audience insight, high-quality content, and measurable commercial outcomes.

You will also collaborate directly with clients, guiding them in identifying the most effective assets to produce and advising on content execution that adheres to platform best practices and advertising performance standards.

This is not an executional role. It is strategic, collaborative, and designed for someone who:

  • Consumes content like oxygen: You’re deeply immersed in TikTok, Meta (Instagram and Facebook), and YouTube Shorts. You don’t just watch; you actively clock patterns, emerging trends, and understand how content resonates.
  • Has strong opinions on ads: You have a keen eye for detail, spotting when a product demo misses its mark or when a hook could have been significantly stronger in its execution.
  • Thinks in angles, audience mindsets, and market stages: You instinctively ask, “Who is this for?” and “Why would they care?”, driving targeted and relevant strategies.
  • Creates their own momentum: You are proactive, self-motivated, and don’t wait for instructions to take initiative.
  • Is sharp with their creative eye: You immediately notice when a video edit feels flat or a design layout is off, and you possess the insight to suggest effective fixes.
  • Is commercially creative: You understand the crucial difference between an aesthetically pleasing ad and one that actually converts customers.
  • Is energized by client collaboration: You are confident in holding your space with clients in both calls and written communication, comfortable providing creative direction, and excited to guide them on content production.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Building comprehensive creative strategies rooted in persona insights, campaign objectives, and brand positioning.
  • Ideating for various ad campaigns and translating your concepts into actionable, detailed briefs for visual creators (designers and editors).
  • Reviewing creative ad assets (UGC, video, static, carousel) with a strategic eye, providing tactful and performance-focused feedback.
  • Working cross-functionally with media buyers, growth strategists, and creative teams to drive continuous iteration and improvement.
  • Learning and diligently applying the frameworks and playbooks that underpin our client work.
  • Collaborating directly with clients through engaging monthly strategy calls.
  • Developing clear content menus to guide clients on what needs to be produced, and supporting them with top-level scripts, shoot guidance, and narrative building.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a digital/social creative or content strategy role (agency or in-house).
  • A deep and genuine interest in content, advertising, and internet culture. You stay informed about what’s trending, why, and what everyone is posting about.
  • Confident communication skills (both written and verbal) for effective interaction across internal teams and with clients.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities – you effortlessly connect brand identity, audience insights, platform nuances, and execution details.
  • A strong gut feeling for what works creatively and the discerning eye to spot when something doesn’t.
  • Bonus if you have:
    • Experience with Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, UGC (User-Generated Content), or e-commerce brands.
    • Some familiarity with direct-response creative and funnel strategy.
