Early Career Geologist or Environmental Scientist | Tetra Tech

• Mission: Support various environmental projects, predominantly within Ohio, with a primary focus on brownfield redevelopment projects.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Field Investigations: Complete field data collection activities, including soil, groundwater, and soil gas sampling, for various environmental projects.
• Environmental Assessments: Conduct Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments, as well as Underground Storage Tank (UST) closure and corrective action investigations.
• Subcontractor Oversight: Provide field oversight and management of subcontractors during geophysical surveys, drilling for soil borings and monitoring wells, and remedial excavation activities.
• Hazardous Material Surveys: Conduct asbestos surveys and lead-based paint inspections, including performing abatement oversight activities.
• Report Generation: Support the preparation of technical reports by tabulating, interpreting, and presenting collected data within tables and figures.
The Must-Haves
• Background: B.S./B.A. in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 1 to 3+ years of environmental consulting or related experience.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal); highly motivated and customer-focused; ability to work effectively in a team environment; possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Bonus: Previous experience with site investigations, remediation, or field sampling (including Ohio EPA VAP and/or Ohio BUSTR); OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER with 8-Hour Refresher certification; Asbestos certification.
