The Tone:
This is an internship at Adkison Law Firm, located in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. Adkison Law Firm is a legal practice specializing in litigation services for a diverse clientele within the oil and gas industries, including operators, royalty and working interest owners, and Oklahoma landowners. This role is important as it offers comprehensive hands-on experience and direct exposure to litigation practices within critical oil, gas, contract, and real property sectors, providing significant mentorship opportunities.

• Mission: This intern will support litigation services by conducting legal research, drafting documents, and assisting with court preparation to address intricate legal challenges for the firm’s clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research to support ongoing cases and legal strategies.
• Document Drafting: Draft and review a variety of legal documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
• Court Preparation: Assist experienced attorneys with thorough preparation for court proceedings, including organizing exhibits and witness materials.
• Strategy Development: Actively contribute to the development of case strategies by analyzing facts and legal precedents.
• Material Review: Meticulously review relevant case materials to identify key information and potential issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a second-year law student (2L) and in good academic standing.
• Experience: Proven proficiency in legal writing, drafting, and meticulous review of legal documents; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with attorneys and legal staff.
• Skills: Strong legal research and analytical skills; exceptional verbal and written communication skills; keen attention to detail and superior organizational abilities; strong personal character and a robust work ethic.
• Bonus: Familiarity with oil, gas, contract, and real property law.
