Music Analytics Intern

Location: Nashville, TN

Position Type: Part-time Internship

Internship Length: May 26, 2026 – August 27, 2026 (15 weeks)

This is a fixed-term internship position, lasting 15 weeks with a maximum of 15 hours per week. It does not guarantee extension or continued employment beyond the program. Candidates must be available for the full duration of the program.

This role is perfect for someone eager to analyze streaming performance, audience growth metrics, and digital engagement trends to gain a deeper understanding of how artists connect with and expand their fanbases. A keen interest in leveraging data to uncover actionable insights and support strategic decision-making within the dynamic music industry is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed streaming analysis for artist campaigns utilizing industry-standard platforms such as Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, Chartmetric, Soundcharts, and others.
  • Prepare comprehensive music release and fan discovery reports to provide valuable data-driven insights for internal teams, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze listener behavior, playlist placements, and artist digital platform metrics to inform and optimize strategy and campaign planning.
  • Monitor emerging trends across various digital platforms and music communities to keep teams informed of industry shifts.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong interest in the music industry, streaming analytics, and data-driven artist growth strategies.
  • Familiarity with prominent digital music and social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data using Google Sheets or Excel.
  • A natural curiosity about music consumption patterns, listener behavior, and evolving streaming trends.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Previous internship or academic experience in music, analytics, or digital media is considered a significant plus.

Position Information

  • This internship is part-time; college credit is available but not required.
  • The internship is paid at the minimum wage of the state in which the office the intern is working in (Nashville, TN).
  • Access to a personal computer and a reliable internet connection is required for this position.
