What You’ll Actually Do
• Environmental Biologist: Engage actively in wetland delineation activities, contributing to crucial ecological assessments that identify and map wetland boundaries. This involves field investigation and data collection to support regulatory compliance and environmental planning efforts.
• Environmental Engineer: Participate in industrial regulatory compliance projects, specifically associated with the Clean Air Act, and programs related to solid and hazardous waste management. You will also contribute to other environmental permitting projects, learning the processes involved in meeting complex industrial regulations.
• Environmental Geologist: Conduct field sampling activities, which involve collecting environmental samples (e.g., soil, groundwater) for analysis. You will also work on various geology projects, applying geological principles to real-world environmental challenges.
• Environmental Scientist: Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), which are a critical part of property transactions to identify potential environmental liabilities. This includes conducting thorough research and site visits for ‘due diligence’ related tasks to inform clients about environmental risks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment as a sophomore or above in an applicable Bachelor’s degree program. Relevant fields of study include, but are not limited to, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, biology, and geology.
• Experience: This opportunity is specifically designed for early-career students to gain practical experience; no prior professional work experience is explicitly required.
• Skills: Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license; ability to undertake both local and out-of-town travel as required for project-related work.
• Bonus: Junior-level students currently enrolled in their third year of an applicable program will receive priority consideration for internship placements.
