Job Title: College Graduate in Training (CGIT) Program

Are you a recent college graduate with a passion for heavy equipment, automotive technology, or business, looking for a dynamic start to your career? Michigan CAT invites you to join our College Graduate in Training (CGIT) program, designed to cultivate future leaders through diverse assignments and comprehensive development.

Objective

The primary objective of the CGIT program is to provide recent college graduates with a unique opportunity to explore various facets of their professional field over a two-three year period. This hands-on experience will enable participants to gain a broad understanding of our business operations, make informed career choices, and ultimately integrate successfully into a core department.

Program Structure and Responsibilities

Our CGIT program is a structured yet flexible development journey, typically spanning two to three years. Participants will engage in various assignments across different departments, each designed to foster talent and leadership skills. While the program duration is generally two-three years, individual performance and learning agility may influence the time spent in each rotational position, potentially expediting or extending certain stages.

  • Personalized Development: CGITs work closely with dedicated mentors to craft a personal development program that aligns both with individual interests and the strategic needs of the company.
  • Comprehensive Support System: Throughout the program, participants receive continuous support, coaching, and mentoring from their program mentor, as well as their immediate supervisors in each assigned department.
  • Exploration and Growth: The program provides ample opportunities to delve into different aspects of your professional field, enabling you to identify your strengths and passions and make well-informed decisions about your long-term career path.
  • Networking: We encourage CGITs to actively network with fellow program participants and colleagues across the organization, fostering valuable social and business relationships that will benefit their professional journey.

The ultimate goal for every CGIT is to become exceptionally well-versed in various business areas. This extensive knowledge and experience will then be brought back to their eventual hired department, ensuring a successful and impactful integration into the team and contributing significantly to the company’s future success.

Qualifications

We are seeking ambitious and driven individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in heavy equipment or automotive technology, business, or a related field.
