The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Johnson Memorial Hospital, located in Stafford Springs, CT. Johnson Memorial Hospital provides a comprehensive continuum of health care services, including a 92-bed hospital and integrated home health and hospice agency, serving north central Connecticut and western Massachusetts for over a century. This 12-month program is meticulously designed to expand the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of a Registered Nurse, facilitating their transition from entry-level competence toward proficiency and expertise in patient care.

• Mission: This program aims to develop Registered Nurses with less than 1-year of experience into competent and proficient practitioners within the nursing field.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transition: Successfully transition to a competent practitioner in the nursing field.
• Decision Making: Learn and apply effective decision-making skills crucial for patient care.
• Leadership: Provide clinical nursing leadership when administering care.
• Evidence-Based Practice: Incorporate research-based evidence into daily nursing practice, culminating in the implementation of an evidence-based practice project.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduation from an accredited College/University nursing program, with less than 12 months of prior Registered Nurse experience.
• Experience: Less than 12 months of Registered Nurse experience.
• Skills: A valid Connecticut RN license active before the program’s start, ability to make effective patient care decisions, and capacity for clinical nursing leadership.
