Housekeeper | Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC)
The Tone:
This is a regular full-time role at Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), located in Williamsburg, VA, supporting the MWR Recreational Lodging program. The program offers diverse accommodations including RV Parks, vacation rentals (cottages, cabins, houses, apartments, yurts), and campgrounds for military personnel and their families. This role is crucial for ensuring all guest areas are impeccably clean and guests receive high-quality service, contributing directly to a positive experience.

• Mission: Provide quality and efficient housekeeping services to guests or guest areas while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
• Tech Stack: Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) system software, in-room telephone system
What You’ll Actually Do
• Cleaning & Maintenance: Perform comprehensive cleaning and sanitization of lodging units, common areas, and facilities like bathhouses and laundry rooms, adhering to program standards for daily service, checkout, and deep cleaning.
• Guest Experience: Ensure guest accommodations are fully prepared, including stocking amenities, inspecting and replacing linens, configuring in-room appliances (TVs, alarm clocks, phones), and maintaining kitchen and bathroom cleanliness.
• Deep Cleaning & Specific Protocols: Execute deep cleaning protocols, especially for pet-friendly and ADA service animal rooms, and complete routine maintenance tasks for cleaning equipment and facility items.
• Guest Interaction & Reporting: Interact professionally with guests, address inquiries, assist with needs, and effectively report lost and found items, damages, or suspicious activities to supervisors.
• Operational Support: Manage inventory and organization of cleaning supplies and carts, process linens, and apply Blood Borne Pathogen criteria for contaminated items, ensuring safety and efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Knowledge of cleaning procedures, proper use of approved cleaning chemicals, and familiarity with applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS), specifically related to recreational lodging program standards. This position does not require a specific educational degree.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to operate all in-room appliances and to utilize Property Management System (PMS) and/or Point of Sale (POS) system software to update room status. Experience accurately completing daily room status reports and housekeeping assignment sheets is also required.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in applying general cleaning procedures and executing documented cleaning actions according to program policy guidance.
• Capability to safely and properly use common hand and power tools.
• Strong judgment to schedule and prioritize work assignments, honoring guest requests while adhering to program standards.
• Clear and effective communication in English, both verbal and written, with management, staff, and guests.
