Software Engineering and Quality Assurance Intern | Kinective

The Tone:
This is an internship at Kinective, located in Rahway, NJ, with hybrid office expectations. Kinective builds software that connects financial institutions to modern fintech solutions, transforming a historically slow industry into intelligent banking. This role is vital for students to gain hands-on experience in developing real-world products used by financial institutions across the country, helping modernize banking for everyone.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams across Product Management, Engineering, Design, QA, and DevOps throughout the full product lifecycle.
• Develop: Contribute to the creation of real features and improvements across Kinective’s platform that ship to production.
• Support: Assist product discovery through research, user feedback, and competitive analysis, and help define product requirements and technical documentation.
• Test: Contribute to software development, testing, debugging, and quality assurance efforts for product releases.
• Validate: Help validate features through manual and automated testing processes, and participate in UI/UX design reviews to evaluate usability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and entering junior or senior year, or recently graduated, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, or relevant fields.
• Experience: Interest in software development, product management, UX design, or quality assurance, with no specific years of prior experience required.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, collaboration with teammates, comfort learning new tools and technologies, and motivation to take ownership.
• Bonus: Relevant coursework, previous internships, or personal projects (e.g., coding, design, research, testing) are a plus.
