AI Process Automation Intern – Summer 2026

Overview

Sharp Electronics is offering an exciting opportunity for students to join their team as an AI Process Automation Intern for the Summer of 2026. This in-person internship, located at Sharp Electronics Headquarters in Montvale, NJ, provides hands-on experience in artificial intelligence and process automation, directly supporting Sharp’s Supply Chain & Operations division. Interns will engage in real-world automation projects, gaining valuable exposure to cross-functional collaboration, supply chain and demand planning processes, and the practical application of AI in business workflows. Required in-person collaboration is 2-3 times per week.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Supply Chain & Operations division to identify processes that can be optimized through AI-driven automation.
• Work closely with the Sales and Operations Planning team to assist with automating data pipelines and reporting dashboards using Python, SQL, or BI tools.
• Instruct other team members on how to properly and effectively utilize current LLMs (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.).
• Develop and test AI/ML models to improve forecast accuracy and inventory optimization.
• Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis using AI-driven simulations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Coursework or hands-on experience in AI, machine learning, or process automation is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with forecasting models and time series analysis is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Interest in consumer electronics and an interest in supply chain innovation.

Summer Internship Details

• Compensation: The hourly rate is $20/hr.
• Duration: The internship program spans approximately 10 weeks, running from June 1st to August 14th, 2026.
• Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position, requiring interns to be in the office in Montvale, NJ, four days a week (Monday to Thursday), with Fridays designated for remote work at the manager’s discretion.
• Transportation: The office location in Montvale, NJ, is not accessible by public transportation. Interns must have reliable transportation.
• Housing: Sharp Electronics does not provide housing or a housing stipend for interns.
• Work Visa: Unfortunately, work visa sponsorship is not offered for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
