Utility Locator (Field Technician)
Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour
About the Job:
Stake Center Locating is looking for entry-level Locate Technicians to join their team. This role is crucial for damage prevention in communities, involving the identification and marking of underground utilities using paint and flags. The company provides 100% paid training, equipping new hires with the necessary skills. Ideal candidates will enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions, possess a desire for independent work, and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities (Training Provided):
- Prioritize and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Utilize a laptop computer for receiving, documenting, and processing work tickets and emails.
- Read and interpret maps and blueprints to determine the most effective method and sequence for utility locating.
- Operate provided locating equipment and technology to accurately identify and mark underground utilities.
- Maintain effective communication with peers, managers, and homeowners.
Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day, 2-3 times per week.
- Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting objects up to 25 lbs, or in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening.
Schedule:
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required by ticket/production load.
- Participation in an on-call shift rotation to respond to emergency calls.
