Utility Locator (Field Technician) | Stake Center Locating

The Tone:

This role is crucial for community safety, ensuring that essential services are correctly located before any excavation work begins.

• Mission: Accurately locate underground utilities and mark their positions to promote damage prevention.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety First: Prioritize and strictly adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Ticket Management: Utilize a laptop computer to receive, document, and process work tickets and manage emails.
• Utility Mapping: Interpret maps and blueprints to determine the most effective method and sequence for locating utilities.
• Equipment Operation: Operate provided locate equipment and technology to accurately identify the positions of underground utilities.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective and clear communication with peers, managers, and homeowners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career position requiring a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Possession of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required for independent field work.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, capacity to work independently, interpret maps and blueprints, operate specialized locating equipment, and communicate effectively.
