As a Pharmacy Graduate Intern, you will be specifically working with Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company focused on serving behavioral health and addiction treatment communities. Genoa goes beyond providing medicine, aiming to change lives for the better by partnering with community-based providers and coordinated care teams. You will contribute to ensuring individuals with complex health conditions receive the right medications and adhere to their treatment plans through personalized services like in-clinic pharmacies and medication management.

Work Schedule

Candidates must be available to work the following schedule:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Fridays: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Graduate Intern, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Running refill reports and managing medication refills.
  • Counseling consumers on their medications and treatment plans.
  • Making outbound phone calls to consumers.
  • Collaborating closely with the pharmacy team.
  • Distributing prescription drugs as prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
  • Providing essential information to customers about their medications and proper usage.
  • Performing clerical duties such as filing patient records and processing insurance claims.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with all relevant laws of the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Administering immunizations, as permitted by state boards of pharmacy.
  • Performing other usual and customary pharmacy duties.
  • Consistently demonstrating superior customer service through behavior and communication, both with internal and external customers.
  • Adhering to safety and security protocols within the workspace and promptly communicating any compromises to safety (equipment, system, information) to leadership.
  • Complying with policies, rules, and regulations set forth by the Board of Pharmacy and other applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Using, protecting, and disclosing patients’ Protected Health Information (PHI) strictly in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program within 24 months prior to the start of the internship.
  • Actively working towards licensure as a Pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Possess active licensure as a pharmacist intern in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • A minimum of 6 months of work experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc., will not be considered).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform immunizations.
  • Strong knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology.
  • Proven adequate mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven solid oral and written communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay for this role will range from $14.00 to $21.00 per hour, based on full-time employment and factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
