Fleet Engineer Rotation Program | Caterpillar Inc.

This is an early career rotation program at Caterpillar Inc., primarily beginning in San Diego, CA and Mabank, TX, before relocating to a U.S. district office. • Team: Reports to a Solar Fleet Manager within Product Support
• Mission: Provide technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers in maintaining and managing machinery management Agreements between Solar and customers.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Complete comprehensive 14-month training program including classroom, hands-on, and field assignments across various Solar locations in San Diego, CA, and Mabank, TX.
• Provide technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers, maintaining machinery management agreements between Solar and its customers.
• Facilitate equipment failure investigations, determine root causes with appropriate groups, and compile detailed engineering reports and analyses for review.
• Support onsite condition assessments, service bulletin compliance, and the implementation of corrective actions for pending issues defined within the issue tracker.
• Ensure compliance with both Solar and customer Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) management systems and provide overviews to field service representatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience: 0-2 years of related experience.
• Skills: Must be able and willing to travel extensively, relocate for assignments, work overtime, handle stress, and communicate in a professional manner with high integrity and self-confidence.
• Bonus: Able to work in extreme or adverse environments and possesses previous internship or related work experience with customer-facing activities.
