Communications and Marketing Intern | United Way of Northeast Florida
The Tone:
This is an internship at United Way of Northeast Florida, located in Jacksonville, FL. The organization works to transform Northeast Florida into a community of opportunity and hope for all. This role is crucial for developing and disseminating the organization’s message, engaging with the community, and supporting various marketing and communications initiatives. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a nonprofit setting while contributing to positive impact.

• Mission: To develop and disseminate United Way’s message, engage the community, and support marketing and communications initiatives that transform Northeast Florida.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Creation: Write compelling blog posts and assist with social media content development, including short- and long-form video.
• Video Production: Create, edit, and publish video content for social media, the website, events, and promotional campaigns.
• Marketing & Design Support: Assist in developing digital and print media, marketing collateral, advertisements, and presentations, including graphic design support.
• Website Management: Aid in managing website content via the WordPress platform.
• Media Relations & Event Support: Track and organize media clippings, update media contact lists, and provide logistical support for special events.
The Must-Haves
• Background: College student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with a preference for Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration/Management, or a related field.
• Experience: One year of experience in a related field is required, with 1-2 years preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in oral and written communication, strong writing abilities with AP style knowledge, Microsoft Office programs, entry-level website content management, and entry-level photography and photo-editing.
• Bonus: Social media management, graphic design, videography, and audio-capturing skills.
