Entry Level Mechanical Designer /Engineer-in-Training | Stantec

• Mission: To design, develop, and optimize mechanical and plumbing components and systems for project applications.
• Tech Stack: Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word
What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Design, develop, and optimize mechanical and plumbing components and systems under direction, ensuring adherence to engineering principles and industry standards.
• Analysis: Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and perform basic calculations to analyze and design individual building mechanical system components.
• Software: Perform Revit design for the mechanical discipline utilizing knowledge of relevant software programs.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with architectural, interior, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines in the coordination of projects.
• Support: Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity, including collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions and performing field work.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering. This is an early career position.
• Experience: Ability to apply mechanical engineering concepts effectively. Engineer-in-Training certification is preferred.
• Skills: Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts; basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team; strong attention to detail.
• Bonus: Engineer-in-Training certification; proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with various construction delivery processes such as Design-Build.
