The Tone:
This is an internship at Michigan Medicine, located in Ann Arbor, MI. This internship prepares bachelor’s prepared graduate nurses for a Registered Nurse position in the fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma Adult Emergency Department, where they will serve as integral members of a multidisciplinary team.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time (36 hrs/week)

• Pay: $41.78–$64.81 hourly (with 5% reduction during internship)
• Mission: To prepare Graduate Nurses for a Registered Nurse position within the Adult Emergency Department.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate: Engage in a four to six-month internship program that combines classroom and precepted clinical experience.
• Rotate: Work variable day, evening, and night shifts during the internship period.
• Collaborate: Serve as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team within the Adult Emergency Department.
• Provide Care: Deliver care for adult patients across a variety of treatment areas in the Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Certify: Successfully obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate Nurse or newly licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan who has not yet practiced as an RN; successful completion of an accredited BSN or ADN nursing program.
• Experience: No prior practice as a Registered Nurse; successful completion of NCLEX no later than 45 days from the individual’s start date; available to start the GN Internship on January 8, 2026; commitment to a two-year departmental service after orientation.
• Skills: Ability to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification during orientation; ability to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within six months post-orientation to maintain position.
• Bonus: BSN degree preferred; excellent interpersonal communication skills desired; experience in an Emergency Department, ICU, or as a Paramedic is desired; overall GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred.
