This is a full-time Cook role at Schulte Companies, operating across its many locations. What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain High Standards: Uphold and actively maintain high sanitation standards across all food preparation and kitchen areas within your responsibility.
• Manage Food Storage: Ensure all food storage areas are kept organized, clean, and that food items are properly handled, stored, and rotated according to inventory best practices at all times, including at the conclusion of each shift.
• Execute Food Preparation: Consistently prepare food to precise specifications for all dining services, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special banquet events, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Collaborate on Menu Development: Work closely with the manager to conceptualize and develop daily specials and other creative menu variations, enhancing the dining experience for guests.
• Ensure Operational Readiness: Proactively maintain clean and orderly storage areas, ensuring all product pars are met to guarantee efficient and uninterrupted kitchen operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry to mid-level role, with a minimum of a High School education preferred. Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of kitchen operations or the ability to quickly acquire necessary knowledge regarding food safety and workplace regulations.
• Experience: Previous experience in a similar cooking or food preparation role is required to ensure a smooth integration into the team and immediate contribution to kitchen operations and service standards.
• Skills:
• Possess a fundamental understanding of food preparation health and safety guidelines, along with the ability to learn and adhere to basic sanitation and workplace safety regulations.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and managers in a busy kitchen environment.
• Demonstrate the flexibility to work varying hours and shifts as required by operational needs, alongside the capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently without compromising quality or efficiency.
• Operate as a collaborative team player, contributing positively to the inclusive and employee-focused workplace culture that Schulte Companies fosters.
