Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern | Teradata

The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Teradata, offering an intensive 10-12 week experience running from May/June to August/September in a flexible and collaborative environment. This FP&A Intern role is crucial for supporting the financial planning and analysis function within the Global Consulting Services FP&A team. Interns will ensure the integrity of financial data, provide clear, actionable insights into key business drivers and metrics, and gain a unique opportunity to learn about the operations of a services business, as well as Teradata’s products and customer base.

• Mission: Consolidate the worldwide services financial forecast, validate actual monthly/quarterly financial results, and provide standardized reporting and analysis to offer a comprehensive understanding of the services business operations across Teradata.
• Tech Stack: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), EPB (Enterprise Performance Management), Power BI (desirable).

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Validate and prepare monthly financial reports, meticulously ensuring their accuracy and integrity for critical financial reviews.
• Presentation: Develop charts and calculations for presentations, effectively communicating key business drivers and metrics to internal stakeholders.
• Data Integrity: Collaborate closely with FP Analysts on comprehensive data validation efforts and ensure robust mapping integrity within the Enterprise Performance Management (EPB) system.
• Project Support: Assist FP Analysts on various special projects, conducting thorough research, analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and contributing to automation initiatives to enhance efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, with preferred graduation dates falling between June 2026 and December 2027.
• Experience: Possess demonstrated financial and analytical skills, acquired through formal education, coupled with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Skills: Exhibit strong communication skills to articulate ideas clearly and effectively, demonstrate keen attention to detail, maintain a strong work ethic, and show proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI is considered desirable.
