Job Title: Cashier Associate

Position Overview
The Cashier Associate plays a crucial role in enhancing customer confidence and loyalty by delivering accurate, fast, and courteous checkout service. This individual is entrusted with financial responsibility within their designated service lane, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions.
Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Listen to customer concerns and appropriately escalate them to management with a positive attitude.
- Manage the service lane efficiently according to established service standards.
- Inform customers of current specials and promotions as requested by company or store management.
- Accurately record sales through the scanning system; operate cashiering equipment efficiently and precisely, recognizing all forms of tender and providing correct change when appropriate.
- Stock front-end products; efficiently restock and utilize supply items to minimize waste and maintain the lowest possible supply cost.
- Neatly put away discarded or returned merchandise.
- Return shopping carts to the designated shopping cart corral.
- Assist in the training of new cashiers, ensuring they are well-versed in company procedures and service standards.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, free from hazards; promptly report any faulty equipment or safety hazards to management.
- Notify management immediately of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement, or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Meet legal and company policy age requirements necessary to perform job functions.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Ability to understand and follow English instructions clearly.
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
