Mechanical Designer I | Sinclair, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an early career position at Sinclair, Inc., located in Raymond, ME. Sinclair is a diversified media enterprise that designs and produces broadcast antennas and various RF components for its extensive network of television stations. This role is crucial for an entry-level professional to support the engineering team by developing accurate parametric solid models, assemblies, and technical drawings, ensuring the integrity of our critical part documentation.

• Mission: To ensure the accuracy and integrity of part documentation and provide essential support for design-related initiatives within broadcast antenna and RF component development.
• Tech Stack: Oracle MRP, JIRA, PDM software, Solid Edge, Microsoft Excel, MS Office suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design Support: Assist in the creation of detailed parametric solid models, complex assemblies, and precise technical drawings under direct senior supervision.
• Data Management: Generate new part numbers and meticulously maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) utilizing the Oracle MRP software system.
• Production Release: Support the Engineering Department in the drafting, review, and official release of production-ready drawings.
• CAD Management: Systematically organize and maintain all CAD files, ensuring easy access and version control through designated PDM software.
• Change Implementation: Assist in processing and implementing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure all design modifications are accurately documented and applied.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional embarking on an entry-level journey within an engineering design environment.
• Experience: Intermediate-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Edge preferred) and prior experience working within a design engineering environment.
• Skills: Demonstrated precision and attention to detail, strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, sheet metal), solid knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing, and familiarity with JIRA and MRP systems (e.g., Oracle).
• Bonus: Knowledge of antenna and RF system design.
