It is an entry-level position designed to train individuals in freight hauling and tractor-trailer operations.

• Mission: Ensure customers’ products arrive on time and in good condition while developing professional driving and communication skills as an essential part of the food supply chain.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Complete Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Programs, as well as any other required professional development for hauling freight and operating tractor-trailers.
• Support designated driver trainers by actively assisting with delivery routes, customer interactions, and all aspects of freight transportation.
• Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of the tractor, truck, and trailer in strict accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards, promptly reporting any required repairs.
• Execute timely deliveries of customer orders following predetermined schedules, accurately verifying items against invoices, and safely unloading products into designated storage areas.
• Maintain detailed records of hours of service and log entries compliant with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements, while also collecting payments and handling customer returns.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a valid CDL Permit (or CDL A or B) and a current DOT Health Card. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and meet all state licensing and certification requirements for commercial driving.
• Experience: Possess relevant experience ranging from 0 to 12 months, specifically with a CDL Permit, depending on the entry path (direct hire from driver school, external entry-level, or internal PFG program with 1 year of service).
• Skills: Demonstrate safe driving practices with a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years; ability to pass a road test and post-offer drug screening; physical capability to hand-lift and move product cases/freight weighing generally from 60 to 90 pounds using a two-wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment.
