Registered Nurse (RN) – New Graduate | Select Medical

The Tone:
This is an early career role at Select Medical, located in Powell, TN, specifically within Select Specialty Hospital – North Knoxville. The hospital focuses on providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services for chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. As a Registered Nurse (RN) New Graduate, you will play a central and compassionate role in delivering excellent treatment, supporting patients through some of the most vulnerable and painful moments of their lives, every step of the way.

• Mission: To provide world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients by delivering compassionate, excellent treatment and support, specifically through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of their recovery journey.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Implement Care Plans: In collaboration with physicians and your dedicated preceptor, you will assure the implementation of the patient assessment plan, followed by evaluation and follow-up on the patient’s plan of care.
• Conduct Patient Assessments: You will initiate an ongoing systematic assessment of the physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs of the patients and their families.
• Develop Nursing Care Plans: Interpret assessment data and information to develop a comprehensive nursing care plan, which includes problem identification, nursing diagnosis, nursing orders, approaches, interventions, short/long-term goals, and discharge planning.
• Contribute to Interdisciplinary Team: Participate as a productive member of the interdisciplinary team in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of rehabilitation goals for patients.
• Ensure Documentation Accuracy: Assure that all documents in the medical record are complete, factual, accurate, and timely, maintaining high standards for patient records.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate of an accredited program for registered nursing; early career level.
• Experience: 0 years of experience is required for this new graduate position.
• Skills: Valid State RN License and current BLS certification are required upon hire. Flexibility of scheduling is also needed to complete the requirements of the new graduate program.
• Bonus: Applicants may apply before being licensed, however, a valid license must be obtained and active by the start date of employment.
