Koniag IT Systems: Enterprise Platform Team Intern
Koniag IT Systems, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a motivated intern to join our Enterprise Platform Team.
The Enterprise Platform Team Intern will play a crucial role in supporting our project manager and a cross-platform engineering team. This team is responsible for critical enterprise services including AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint. The position primarily focuses on back-office, coordination, and administrative activities, offering valuable opportunities to assist with technical and engineering support tasks as your skills develop and availability allows.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative & Operational Support (Primary Focus)
- Support project coordination activities, including meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, note-taking, and action-item tracking.
- Maintain project documentation, trackers, and status reports using collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Confluence.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding workflows, access requests, and approval tracking across enterprise platforms.
- Help manage vendor, intake, and request workflows by validating completeness and routing requests appropriately.
- Support reporting activities, including milestone tracking, basic metrics, and status dashboards.
- Platform & Technical Support (Secondary / Developmental Focus)
- Assist engineers with routine platform tasks such as documentation updates, configuration validation, and inventory tracking.
- Support non-production or low-risk activities in AWS and Azure under direct supervision (e.g., account hygiene, tagging validation, permissions review support).
- Assist with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint site organization, permissions management, and content updates.
- Help test workflows, scripts, or automation developed by the engineering team (without making independent production changes).
- Learning & Professional Development
- Gain exposure to enterprise cloud platforms, identity and access management, and platform governance practices.
- Learn how large-scale IT programs are planned, tracked, and reported in an enterprise environment.
- Participate in team ceremonies, planning sessions, and retrospectives as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with documentation, spreadsheets, and collaboration tools.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud concepts (AWS and/or Azure).
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Interest in enterprise IT, platform engineering, or technical program management.
- Prior internship, lab, or coursework involving cloud or systems administration.

- Highly organized, reliable, and proactive.
- Comfortable balancing administrative tasks with technical learning opportunities.
- Willing to ask questions and follow established processes in a regulated enterprise environment.
Reporting & Mentorship
- Reports directly to a Project Manager.
- Works closely with senior platform and cloud engineers.
- Receives structured guidance, task prioritization, and regular feedback.
