Software Engineer Intern | Zip
The Tone:

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will be integrated into this environment, learning to build Zip’s core products and architecture, and shipping features that will be immediately used by these customers. You will contribute to solving a wide range of complex technical and product challenges within a fast-moving, supportive team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Development: Design and build highly reliable and resilient products and features.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional product and customer-facing teams to understand requirements and ship thoughtful solutions.
• Code Quality: Write high-quality, extensible, and maintainable code.
• Frontend Engineering: Design and build scalable frontend applications and components.
• API Development: Design and build APIs to drive existing and new features for a web-based application.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or math), with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with web applications and API development. Prior internship in a high-growth startup environment is also required.
• Skills: Ability and interest to quickly learn new frameworks, architecture patterns, and programming languages as needed. Fantastic written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration. Familiarity with the company’s tech stack, which includes Python, Javascript/TypeScript, React, and GraphQL, will be beneficial.
