Position Overview

The Junior Loan Originator supports senior loan officers in originating, processing, and closing residential and/or commercial loans. This entry-level role focuses on learning lending guidelines, developing effective client relationships, and assisting borrowers throughout the loan application process. The Junior Loan Originator ensures all activities are completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and CCM policies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in originating residential and/or commercial loan applications.
  • Collect and review borrower financial information (income, assets, credit reports, employment history).
  • Pre-qualify and pre-screen applicants based on lending guidelines.
  • Explain loan products, terms, and conditions to prospective borrowers.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding loan status.
  • Coordinate with processors, underwriters, appraisers, and title companies.
  • Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with federal and state regulations.
  • Follow up on leads and support business development efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records in loan origination systems (LOS) and CRM platforms.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the loan process.

Qualifications And Skills

  • NMLS License required under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in mortgage lending, banking, sales, or financial services.
  • Understanding of mortgage products and lending regulations, or a willingness to learn.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Skilled in reviewing and analyzing financial documents.
  • Skilled in customer service and supporting client needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and loan origination software.

Compensation

Hourly: $16.00 – $19.00

This position is bonus plan eligible.

The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
