Junior Data Analyst Healthcare Claims & Experimentation | Metalight Solutions Inc

This is an early career position at Metalight Solutions Inc, located remotely. Metalight Solutions Inc is seeking support for healthcare claims analytics and experimentation initiatives. This role is crucial for transforming large-scale claims data into actionable insights, supporting A/B testing programs, and developing reliable performance metrics to drive informed decisions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Transformation: Query, clean, and transform large healthcare claims datasets, including claim header and line-level data.
• Reporting & Dashboards: Build and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and reporting frameworks using Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Experimentation: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests, encompassing hypothesis formulation, randomization validation, sample size calculation, statistical test selection, and result interpretation.
• Cohort Analysis: Develop comprehensive cohort analyses and experiment measurement frameworks to evaluate performance.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data governance standards, and document data lineage, assumptions, and metric definitions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with 0-3 years of experience in Data Analytics or a related field, possessing foundational knowledge of A/B testing methodology and healthcare claims data.
• Experience: 0-3 years of experience in data analytics, with an understanding of healthcare claims data concepts such as member vs provider, claim header vs line-level, and CPT/ICD codes. Experience with at least one cloud data warehouse, preferably Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery.
• Skills: Strong SQL proficiency including joins, aggregations, window functions, and CTEs; demonstrable Python experience for data wrangling (pandas, numpy) and statistical testing (scipy, statsmodels); basic R knowledge; and foundational understanding of hypothesis testing, p-values, confidence intervals, power, and sample size calculations.
• Bonus: Experience working with Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIPAA-compliant workflows, exposure to healthcare payer systems, and experience with BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
